Thompsons Scotland condemn Scots work place fatalities figures as wholly unacceptable in the 21st Century.
29/07/05

The firm, condemned latest statistics noting that tragically there were 15 fatal injuries to workers in 2004/05 representing a higher proportion of workers killed as compared with England and Wales with a similar relatively high proportion of workers in Scotland nearly 3,000 reporting serious injuries resulting in 3 or more days absence from work. In 2003/04 an estimated 179,000 people in Scotland were suffering from an illness which they believed was caused or made worse by their current or past work. All of which represents a failure on the part of Scottish workplace management to take seriously their role and responsibility for reducing and eradicating risk of injury in the workplace.
