The DPF is well aware that it is very important that the Member is provided with full legal advice and representation (if required) in the event of a road traffic accident. There is now an extremely comprehensive package available to alleviate any pressures or worries for the Member and their family from injury, loss of car and police involvement

Personal Injury
If you or a member of your family are injured as a result of a road traffic accident, contact Thompsons Solicitors and through the DPF we will provide you with :-
. Full representation for Members and their family for injuries sustained as a result of a road traffic accident
. Full damages obtained will go to the Member and their family without any deductions
The lawyers handling the cases are experienced in representing DPF Members. You should however note that there are certain time limits and it is imperative that you act quickly if you think you have a case
Car Hire/ Car Repair Scheme
The service has now been further improved to incorporate a car hire/car repair Scheme through recognised Fleet Managers. This involves:-
Liaison with Insurer;
Collection and re-delivery
Provision of Group A courtesy car;
Recovery of undriveable vehicles
3 year repair guarantee
The service can be provided for both fault and non-fault cases and either Comprehensive or Third Party Insurance.
Criminal Advice
If however, your road traffic accident leads to involvement of the Police and/or road traffic offence charges being brought against you or a Member of your family then assistance can also be provided.

. If taken further, Legal Aid will be applied for and even if Legal Aid is refused the Criminal Law Solicitor will charge in accordance with Legal Aid rates
